WHAT IS THE SLA?
The SLA is not your typical gym. It's actually not a gym at all, it's a
training facility. People come here to train....hard. The training here
is programmed and monitored. Each training session has a purpose and
developmental goal behind it. There are no "chest days" or "arm days"
in our training. Every workout will work the body as it is meant to be
worked, as one functioning unit. We focus on improving fitness as a
whole, while addressing all aspects of development including
nutritional guidance. As intense as it sounds, these workouts can be
performed by anyone, no matter of skill level or athletic ability.
Every workout is scalable to the trainee's abilities and/or needs. It is a place for those who have grown tired of, or just do
not fit in at typical commercial gyms. The training we do here does not
belong in commercial gyms. There are no machines for what we do. If
your goal is to improve at a sport, prepare for your job
(police/military/fire), or just to get into the best shape of your life
in the quickest most effective way possible, this is the place
to do it.
WHY THE SLA?
This is the first training facility of it's kind in Louisiana.
At The SLA we focus on actual health, fitness, and performance. The workouts and exercises you will
be exposed to are unique, challenging, and most of all effective!
Traditional commercial gyms and personal training systems generally
neglect the importance of passing on knowledge to the trainee. Here you will be a member of a training community, who will
learn as you are doing. You will be supported by fellow trainees and
the trainers. There will be no bad or disrespectful attitudes
tolerated. You will be more than a scan card and
monthly dues. You will be treated as an athlete and an integral part of
the facility from the moment you walk in the door. You will receive
personal attention at every workout, regardless if you are in a group
workout or a one on one personal training session, you will receive
personal attention and coaching every time.
It doesn't matter if you are an elite athlete or just someone
looking to get into the best shape of your life The SLA is the
most effective environment you will find to reach your
goals. It is not a big, impersonal, commercial gym, nor do we have the
attitude of one. Our members will be a part of a family, a part of
something that they can be proud of. The work will be intense,
rewarding and more effective than any fitness program you have ever
tried.
Our goal is to be everything the big commercial gyms are
not. There is no fluff or filler, no fancy computerized equipment,
no neon lights, no repetitive pounding 80's music, no
ill-informed personal trainers and staff, no misleading contracts, no
spandex kings and queens giving you dirty looks. Just pure, honest work
being done by a community of like minded people looking to better
themselves and improve their quality of life and physical performance.
